North Country Hiking Trail

Walker is a small city in north-central Minnesota, located on Walker Bay along the shores of the state’s third largest lake, Leech Lake. Walker is the hub of an outdoor recreational mecca featuring the Heartland and Paul Bunyan State Trails, and the Shingobee Connection Trail, the Chippewa National Forest, and the North Country Trail.

It has finally started to feel like summer in the area, and you know what that means: the 4th of July is right around the corner! The 4th of July is the perfect holiday for outdoor family fun, and there is no better place for that than Leech Lake.

Walker Ethnic Festival

Entertainment from around the world! Three stages of music fill the city with multi-cultural sounds. Food and craft vendors line the streets of Walker. Family entertainment and interactive activities are held throughout the day.

Saturday, September 09, 2023 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Learn more here.

Saturday 11am – Parade down main street, vendors and entertainment begin at 12noon. The activities run all day this is an awesome event.

All entertainment is outdoors and the cost of a button helps support the event, come to Walker and enjoy the festival.

Walker Farmer’s Market

The Walker Community Farmers & Crafters Market serves as a gathering place for community members and visitors. Guests may purchase vendor-grown produce, specialty foods, baked goods, crafts, jewelry, and much more. The market promotes and supports local agriculture, education, and community interactions in a welcoming and upbeat atmosphere. Live music every week with breakfast, lunch and drink specials available in our eatery and handcrafted cocktail bar!
